Caplinger Mills Fire Protection District

At Fire Station #2

The June 20, 2024 meeting of the Caplinger Mills Fire Protection District was called to order by Eddie Johnson. Mark Bradshaw, Michele Pate, and Sno White-Benson were present. We had a quorum.

Michele motioned that we accept the meeting minutes for the May board meeting. Mark seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Mark gave the treasurer’s report. We currently have $37,979.06 in the bank.

Mark reported that he had spoken with David Andre whose construction company did the repairs to Fire House #1. Mr. Andre is donating the supplies and labor it took to fix the Fire House roof. 

Raymond Heryford, fire chief, reported that that the department had one mutual aid call for a structure fire. He also stated that the CMVFD had received two donations, one for $11,000 and one for $600. They are planning to use $8000 for training of the fire fighters.

Raymond also stated that Caplinger Mills is putting on a fireworks show on July 27 and has requested that the VFD be present. Michele moved that the VFD be present at the show. Sno seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

As there was no other business to discuss, Mark moved that we adjourn. Michele seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
